Developing the right strategy is critical if you want to win a national fellowship. YJ Heo will review your background to determine how competitive you are. Before you spend dozens of hours blindly developing your narrative as an applicant, you should think about how you can strengthen parts of your profile that may appear weaker, and you should consider all possible scenarios to create the right strategy.
Using any documents you upload (e.g. resume, CV, personal site, writing sample, past personal statements or cover letters–even if they’re not directly relevant to this current program to which you’re applying, etc.), YJ will share with you 1) what your weaknesses and gaps may be 2) potential solutions to offsetting these weaknesses 3) an evaluation on what your chances may be 4) a determination of what programs might be ‘best fit’ for you 5) what your ‘best’ story could be 6) (if you’re younger) what you can do to plan ahead to become much more competitive 7) how you can think about national fellowships in the context of your career development. YJ will send you a ~10 minute voice memo as he reviews your submitted documents (this is variable based on the contents you share, but he expects it to be between 10-30 minutes). The current, estimated time for sharing the voice memo is within 48 hours.
This operates through DocReview.app, which streamlines the processes for document review. If you have any questions feel free to ‘reply to’ the email sent from DocReview.app, and that will be sent directly to YJ Heo.
